The IP Products Univision Loupe for Serious Compact Cameras

Tired of this:

It’s understandable.
Holding a camera at arms length to take a photo is awkward and contributes to poor photo quality and composition.  Plus, bright sunlight can make the LCD impossible to see.  And that doesn’t make sense when you’ve spent good money on a serious compact camera that can deliver outstanding photographic results.
Introducing IP Products Univision Loupe that allows you to bring the camera to your eye, using the rear LCD as a high quality electronic viewfinder.

The Univision is a lightweight, collapsible optic that comes in two versions: one for eyeglass wearers and one for non-eyeglass wearers.
It’s design allows it to be mounted to any camera with a 3” screen, and many cameras with a 2.7” screen.  Installation is easy: attach the soft side of the hook and loop fastener to the camera, and mount the loupe.  Simply remove when you need to use the LCD as a ground glass style viewer.  The quality packaging allows the loupe to be safely stored when not in use.
Concept

Compact cameras typically lack a viewfinder.  Or if they have a viewfinder, it is small and inaccurate for framing.
Consequently, you end up holding the camera at arms length to frame and shoot the photo or video.
Try holding your camera at arms length for 15 or 20 seconds and you will find that the camera shakes.  This can confound the anti-shake reduction system of most cameras (if your camera has one), leading to photos with poor resolution and framing.  Most important, shooting at arms length, especially for extended periods of time, is just plain uncomfortable.
So why not design a product that allows you to use the rear LCD as the viewfinder?
Design

The heart of the Univision Loupe is a classic camera bellows designed to expand to the correct focal length of the loupe's lens.  The cloth bellows is tough and durable.  It's built-in memory places the lens at the proper distance allowing quick, in-focus viewing.
Because eyeglass wearers often find viewing systems difficult to use, we have also developed a configuration that allows eyeglass wearers enough relief to see the whole screen without strain.
